Colors of summer

Summer is almost over, I am going to miss all the wonderful colors again. Most of the photos are taken in our garden.

By the way, this summer Tatyana learned to mow the lawn 🙂 She doesn’t do it well but who am I to stop a kid who wants to help at home?

Here goes the Q & A…

Are Filipino guys more traditional? If so, does that mean their values are more intact than that of foreigners?

This question is unfortunately too vague for me to answer.

Is the stereotype true that Westerners have a less of a sense of spirituality?

Being spiritual is a very personal thing. I do not believe that filipino men are more spiritual than other races.

What about a foreigner’s view of commitment in a relationship?

A person who wants a relationship to work is going to do the best he/she can to make it work, be he from Canada, Mongolia or any where else in the world.

How are they as mates- are they jealous, possessive?

Each person has his own personality. There is a lot of stereotyping about Asians being possessive and jealous. I am not. My husband, a european, is not a jealous type, thank goodness!
Is it true that normally a stronger woman is better of with a foreigner?
No, a woman (or everyone for that matter) should get into a relationship with someone she loves, be he of the same race or from another country.

🙂 I could not possibly generalize filipino men and western men. All relationships will boil down to 2 people raised by two different families in different environments, cultures and traditions (whether of the same race or not) and they will have to go through struggles and joys together. If by any chance, their love is sturdy enough through the struggles, then it doesn’t matter whether one is in an inter-racial marriage or not.

Extreme Makeover

Keeping a house means work. Keeping 2 houses means??? having a full time job?
My husband’s danish relatives came over at the last week of July and borrowed our summer house (which I rather refer to as weekend cabin, we use the cabin in the winter too.). Last winter, we knew that we should renovate it this summer but because of the going in and out of the hospital, we never really got the time to do it until the last minute. 9 days before our guests arrive, we renovated the summer house with the help of our carpenters.

Thanks to Ignas and Remi, I do not think that we were able to lend away the cabin on time. We still need to do a lot of finishing touches but they will have to wait.
