The first time I went here (4 years ago) at Lysgårdsbakken, my husband John told me that he didn’t like to take the lift because he has done it before. I looked down and saw that I can handle it since it is just 5 meters down. Little did I know that it was a long way down from the lift! I have a problem with heights (and so has my husband). He tricked me into taking the lift!!! This time, I did not take it.
This is my second visit tot Lillehammer and I wish we had more time to go around. Lillehammer is the home of the 1994 Winter Olympics.
The body of water you see above is Mjøsa. As I have mentioned earlier. Mjøsa is the largest lake in Norway. It stretches from Eidsvoll to Lillehammer.
On the way to Lillehammer (while my family was here), we drove through Hamar and I just had to ask my husband John to stop when we saw the Viking ship Olympic Arena. It is build to host the Winter Olympics in Norway in 1994 for speedskating. Now, it is used for all kinds of purpose, concerts, football, trade fairs.
The roof of the building is a viking ship turned upside down! Impressive architecture.
